Laundry Scent Boosters for More than Just Laundry!

I've been noticing some great ideas on pinterest for unconventional uses for Downy Unstopables (or Gain Fireworks or Bounce Bursts).

These little super-scented soap pellets have been a great additional against stink in our house and here are a few different ways I've used them.

Clementine Recipe Round Up!

Every year the same scenario plays out:

Clementines - or Christmas Oranges as they are called at my house - are scarce all through the warmer months.  As soon a Thanksgiving is upon us (we're Canadian so it's earlier than our friends in the US), Clementines are everywhere!

Sold in five pound boxes - and under $4 a box - a great deal for these sweet little beauties.

The first box I bring home in gone in 48 hours.  With the vitamin boost, the family is in love!

The second box, maybe another pound is eaten before the family moves onto other grazings, leaving the clementines to dry out in their neglect.

So, in an effort to avoid waste - here is a collection of recipes I have complied in hopes of keeping my food dollars in check - and not thrown to the curb.

The Real Cost of Food - Dec 3

Year To Date:     Value:$1748.07     Spent: $612.51     Saved: $1135.56     65%

I am a firm believer that everyone - absolutely everyone - can save at least 50% of their grocery budget - and still have full healthy meals and snacks.

I am publicly tracking and displaying what I have spent our food dollars on and how I've saved in hopes of encouraging others to reduce the cost of their food bills.

Manic Monday Menu Plan - Nov 21

It's another Manic Monday Menu Plan!

I do my food shopping a little different than most.  Yes, it is frugal and budget friendly to plan your meals around the weekly sales... But it is MORE frugal and budget friendly to plan your meals around what you have in the house - especially because I only shop the stock up sales (and I stock up when it's at the absolutely lowest price!!)  So sometimes this means I only buy pork chops or chicken one week - but I buy as much as I can (usually freezer space is my biggest dictator.)

Leftovers are usually the next day's lunch, so it's cook once and eat twice.

With that being said, here is what I'm cooking up for dinner this week:
